zu:a — digital human

2024

ZU:A is a full 3D digital human developed over the course of a year, built as an original character pipeline. The character was designed to work across both real-time content in Unreal Engine 5 and pathtraced rendering in Maya, Cinema 4D, and Houdini, with garments digitised in CLO3D and Marvelous Designer and shading networks set up for Redshift and Octane.

The project explored what it means to build a character pipeline that holds up under both performance and cinematic constraints — a workflow that could move between game engines and film-grade renderers without being rebuilt.
